PRIVACY POLICY AND PRINCIPLES

At North Valley Bank, we know how important personal privacy is to you. Whether you are an existing customer or are considering a customer relationship with us, you may have an interest in how we collect, retain, utilize and maintain personal information about you. We feel privacy is an important issue to everyone and we are committed to treating customer information responsibly. We maintain high standards and procedures designed to prevent misuse of this information. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. If you decide to close your account or become an inactive customer, we will adhere to the privacy practices as described in this notice.
  • Our Collection, Retention, and Use of Information About You We collect, retain, and use information about you only where we reasonably believe it will assist us to administer our business or provide financial services, products and other opportunities to you. We collect and retain information about you only for specific business purposes. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you on applications or other forms; information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and information we receive from a consumer reporting agency. We will tell you why we are collecting and retaining the information, upon your request.
  • Limited Employee Access to Information The importance of confidentiality and customer privacy is a critical part of our standard operating procedures, employee training programs and our code of ethics. Employee access to information is restricted to a need to know basis with an appropriate business reason to know such information. We take appropriate disciplinary actions to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
  • Restrictions on Disclosing Information to Third Parties We do not share personal information about your accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties outside our company for their independent use unless: (1) you request or otherwise authorize it; (2) the information is provided to assist in the completion of a transaction initiated by you; (3) the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar reporting agency; or (4) the disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required by certain state and federal law, lawful judicial or administrative process, court order or regulation.


 

In providing account servicing, sometimes it is necessary to provide personally identifiable data to parties outside North Valley Bank, such as to a vendor or service company that we employ to prepare your account statements or to provide support for our products and services. These vendors and service companies are under written agreement to safeguard our confidential information about you and your products and services with us and must abide by applicable law.
 

  North Valley Bank does not provide account or personal information to non-North Valley Bank companies for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing.
  • Security Procedures to Protect Information We maintain security standards and procedures to assist in the prevention of unauthorized access to confidential information about you. We update and test our technology to improve our protection of our information about you and assure the integrity of our information.
  • Accurate Maintenance of Information We have procedures to ensure that your financial information is accurate and complete in accordance with commercial standards. Additionally, we have procedures to respond to your requests to correct any inaccuracies. Should you ever discover that our records are incomplete, inaccurate or not current, please notify us as quickly as possible.
